If you haven’t got the space in your garden for a clematis armandii but would like a clematis that is evergreen – consider planting one of these. It’s one of my favourites and is called clematis cirrhosa ‘Wisley Cream’.
It has small, creamy, bell-shaped flowers and mid-green leaves that are retained throughout the year.
It will produce a mass of flowers from January – March (infact the one in my garden has only just finished flowering!) As a garden designer I like to use them for training over a pergola or arch, in a sunny, sheltered site.
Needing very little pruning this clematis is perfect for low maintenance gardeners that want to create a winter focal point.
